Rough School
Contemporary Slovak Graphic Art Confronting History

20. July 2017 — 8. October 2017
Esterházyho palác, 3rd floor, Bratislava
Curators: Lucia Gavulová, Alexandra Kusá

Contemporary graphic art is a topic with long and complicated tradition in the history of Slovak art.

The exhibition will focus on a “group” of forty-year-olds, allied by their choice of rough style in the tradition of engraving and scraping (technical and thematic). Original collections will show how, in this case, we can perhaps talk about specific generational testimony.

A selection of works by authors such as Pavol Čejka, Tomáš Klepoch, Emil Drličiak will be installed in the company of older art, graphic classics as well as Brunovský School.
