New permanent exhibition: The Archives of Július Koller

On the first floor of the Esterházy Palace, the archive of the conceptual artist Július Koller has been opened for public. The exhibited material of Koller's remaining effects has no ambition to provide any comprehensive report on its content.

The exhibition consists of three parts: documentation related to a particular exhibition - Textile Paintings from 1974, small-scale works from his remaining effects and testimony of Koller's rewriting mania, his position as a contemporary witness recording the "flow of history".

This time, the impulse is not only to pass the time while waiting for the major refurbishment to be accomplished, but also the format of experimental expositions, which enables us to provisionally exhibit (and ironically contextualise) Koller in the company of other renowned hoarders...
