Miroslav Ksandr: Sculpture and Drawing

3. April 2014 — 18. May 2014
Galéria Ľudovíta Fullu, Ružomberok
Curator: Karol Maliňák

Miroslav Ksandr's artistic expression was greatly influenced by his professor Jozef Kostka at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. The controversial atmosphere of the 1950s shaped a strong generation of sculptors such as V. Kompánek, K.Patakiová, P.Tóth and many others.

Ksandr drew inspiration from the area of Liptov transforming the dimensional attributes of the landscape, outlines of human figures, ornaments, tools and other objects or phenomenon into symbols. Later on, his symbolic and semantic parable that was oriented from the surface to the subject matter has grown stronger.
